Professor Ts. Dr. Aida Mustapha is an academician and researcher specialising in Artificial Intelligence with a focus on Computational Linguistics, Soft Computing, and Agent Systems. Currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Prof. Aida has an extensive academic background. She holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Universiti Putra Malaysia, a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and a BSc. in Computer Science (Magna Cum Laude) from Michigan Technological University, USA. She is a certified professional with multiple Microsoft certifications including Azure AI Engineer Associate, Azure Data Scientist Associate, Data Analyst Associate, and several others related to Azure and Dynamics 365 Fundamentals. She is also certified in Alibaba and AWS Cloud Computing and a HRD accredited. She is the lead trainer for Akademi Intelek dan Data Analitik (AI.DA) that is dedicated to training students and professionals for professional certifications in Cloud, Data, AI, and Cybersecurity.

Prof. Aida Mustapha is also a dedicated professional committed to advancing the field of Artificial Intelligence and making notable contributions through her research, supervision, and professional engagements. With a prolific career in academia, Prof. Aida has successfully supervised a significant number of postgraduate students at both Master’s and Ph.D. levels. She has contributed close to 450 publications in prestigious journals and conferences. Her research grants portfolio is impressive, having led and contributed to various projects focusing on Artificial Intelligence applications, text mining, and machine learning approaches worth of RM2 millions. Her expertise is not only confined to academia and research but also extends to professional services. Prof. Aida is the Chief Editor for Journal of Quranic Sciences and an Associate Editor for Sports Medicine Journal. She has appeared as a speaker and forum panelist on multiple international platform such as TedX, Microsoft Code Without Barriers, UK-MY Artificial Intelligence Conference, Micro-Credentials Education Summit, and Iskandar Malaysia SME Business Outlook. She has also served as auditor for various academic programmes and a veteran grant assessor for the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and the European Science Foundation.

Trained as a computer programmer, Prof. Aida has a keen aptitude for problem-solving and innovating digital solutions. She has contributed to the development of multiple research and innovation ecosystems, resulting in the creation of systems such as the Organisation Research and Knowledge Experts Dashboard (ORKED), Judging System for Managing Innovation Exhibition (JASMINE), Research and Innovation in Culture and Heritage of Johor (RICHER), Talent Unity on Intelligent Platform for Sports (TULIPS), and most recently Integrated Relations for Industry and Society (IRIS). JASMINE, in particular, is a commercial-ready judging platform that has given Prof. Aida the opportunity to serve as the head judge for numerous national and international competitions such as the International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA), International Research and Symposium and Exposition (RISE), National Micro Enterprise Pitching Competition, and Pertandingan Usahawan Inovasi. She has also chaired several international conferences such as the International Conference on Quranic Informatics & Innovation, International Symposium on Agents, Multi-Agents Systems and Robotics, and International Conference on the Applications of Science and Mathematics.

Prof. Ts. Dr. Aida Mustapha has consistently demonstrated a commitment to objectivity and transparency in her academic and professional endeavors. Through her leadership roles as the Director of the Industry and Community Relations Center, Deputy Director of the Research Management Center, and Head of Center for Research on Computational Mathematics (CERCOM), she has fostered an environment of openness, ensuring  all stakeholders are informed and engaged in decision-making processes. Prof. Aida’s dedication to teamwork has been instrumental in the successful completion of various research and innovation projects, where multidisciplinary collaboration is required. Her transparent approach to research management and consultation activities has not only enhanced the quality and impact of the projects but also built trust and credibility among peers, industry partners, and the community at large, setting a benchmark for ethical and collaborative practices in the field.
