Mas Fawzi bin Mohd Ali is a Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Johor, Malaysia. He joined UTHM since 2004. He is currently the Assistant Vice Chancellor (Strategic & Quality), overseeing the university’s Strategic Planning, Risk Management, and Quality Management.
Before he joined UTHM, he worked as a Calibration Engineer at Samsung Electronics Display Sdn. Bhd., and Industrial Engineer at Sharp-Roxy Electronics Sdn. Bhd.
Prof. Mas completed his Doctor of Engineering (2012) in Earth and Life Environmental Engineering from The University of Tokushima, Japan. He received his Master of Mechanical Engineering (2007) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and his Bachelor’s Degree (hons) in Electromechanical System Engineering (1997) from University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (UMIST), UK.
He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (MIMechE), UK.
Prof. Mas is also a Principal Researcher at the Centre for Energy and Industrial Environment Studies (CEIES) and an Affiliate Researcher at the Centre of Automotive and Powertrain Technology (CAPT).
His research interests are green technologies, alternative fuels and combustion control. His taught subjects for the undergraduates are Thermodynamics1 and Thermodynamics 2. He has graduated 10 PhD and 5 Master students.
He loves to collaborate in multi-disciplinary research projects. His recent projects includes Light-Duty Vehicle Field Trial using Palm Biodiesel (B30), Development of a CNG-Diesel Dual Fuel Vehicle, and a Steam Methane Reformer using Noble Metal Catalyst for Hydrogen Syngas Production.
Prof. Mas is also a co-founder of KAFF Synergy PLT, a spin-off company of UTHM that focuses on delivering Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy solutions for industries.
