ROZAIDA GHAZALI is a professor and one of the founding members of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). In 1997, she graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science. She developed an interest in Neural Networks-related research after completing her Master of Computer Science from University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2003. She received her PhD in Computer Science from Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom in 2007.

Her doctoral research primarily focused on Higher-Order Neural Networks, and she made significant advancements in machine learning, data mining, swarm intelligence, optimization, and time series prediction.

Currently, Prof. Rozaida serves as a principal researcher at the Soft Computing and Data Mining Centre, UTHM. More than 200 peer-reviewed publications from her research have been published in top-tier journals and conferences, proving the success of her efforts. In addition to her research, Prof. Rozaida has successfully supervised and mentored more than 25 PhD and master’s students, assisting them in completing their degrees. She has also worked as an editor for the renowned Springer book series, a reviewer for reputable journals and conferences, and a committee member for various international conferences.

Prof. Rozaida’s expertise has been acknowledged by her appointment as a panellist for Malaysia’s university and college ranking, a panellist for academic promotion at several local and international universities, an evaluator for research funds, and an external examiner. She has also served as the main investigator on 20 research projects for UTHM, the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation of Malaysia (MOSTI), and King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, she has taken part in numerous foreign trips and networking events, fostering prospects for collaboration between UTHM and prestigious universities from a variety of nations, including New Zealand, Turkey, China, Sudan, Bangladesh, and Indonesia.

With her broad experience and knowledge at the national and international levels, Professor Rozaida has made major contributions to the academic and scientific communities. In the domains of machine learning and data mining, her noteworthy accomplishments have had a particularly significant impact.
