The University and Community Relations Office, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) in collaboration with the Muar Fishermen Association organised the ‘Floating Market Programme’ on 16 December 2015 at Panchor Jetty, Muar. The programme involved 170 UTHM students and staff, as well as 200 local community members from Panchor and Pagoh. The programme aimed to introduce floating market business concept, provide opportunities to generate income and develop tourism in the area. Besides the floating market, other activities conducted were Panchor river cruise, bazaar, telematch, and traditional games. The programme was able to promote Panchor Jetty as the first floating market in Malaysia. UTHM provided transportation for the programme. A sum of RM990.00 was allocated and the total cost, in-kind and cash, was RM8,811.6
