BATU PAHAT– The Researcher team from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) won 10 medals during the International, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2019) from 2nd until 4th May 2019 held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
UTHM sent 10 innovation products to compete in the exhibition and all entries succeeded with four gold medals and six silver medals.
The director of Innovation & Commercialization Center (ICC), Professor Dr. Nik Hisyamuddin Muhd Nor said that by joining the exhibition (ITEX 2019), researchers can enhance their ingenuity, innovation and accomplishment in their fields of research. He also said that it allowed researchers to get recognition as well as promoting and commercialising technology and current innovation that they have produced.
He added that UTHM involvement in ITEX 2019 was a stepping stone for researchers to commercialise research products as well as becoming one of the university revenue streams.
ITEX 2019 was co-organised by the Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS) and C.I.S Network Sdn. Bhd., with encouragement from the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment & Climate Change (MESTECC) and the Ministry of Education (MOE) and with recognition from Malaysia Research Assessment Instrument (MyRA).
More than 1,000 products and designs from various universities, corporate bodies and individuals from the Asian region such Taipei, Thailand, Bangladesh, Yemen, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Qatar, Vietnam, China, Laos, and Saudi Arabia were exhibited at the ITEX 2019.
