The Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) Faculty of Technical and Vocational Education has assembled a total of 40 students from eight universities across Indonesia to successfully execute an international mobility program from July 1st to July 28th, 2023.

Participants from STT Dumai, Universitas Widya Gama Mahakam, Universitas Negeri Malang, Universitas Kadiri, Universitas Dr. Soetomo, STIH Manokwari, STKIP PGRI SITUBONDO, and STIKES Mutiara Mahakam are part of the joint program with the Indonesian Association of Experts and Lecturers (ADRI).

Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Ruzairi Abdul Rahim, Vice Chancellor of UTHM, was present to kick off the 28-day program.
The mobility program, which is monitored by a team of 21 experts chaired by Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Affero Ismail intends to educate participants on the principles of research methodology while also introducing them to Malaysian customs and culture.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Affero, participants are exposed to academic courses such as Research Methodology and Statistics, which involve innovative and practical learning, as well as Malaysian culinary workshops and zapin dancing sessions.

“As part of the PERMATA program, participants can also join a campus tour, visit the historical city of Melaka, participate in the UNESCO World Youth Skill Day program, attend motivational sessions, and engage with guest speaker Dr. Soo Wincci,” he stated.

The program’s implementation is also an endeavor to develop the relationship between the two neighboring countries through cultural exchange and understanding of Malaysian life.

We have received positive feedback from participants, demonstrating that the objectives and goals of this program have been met.” We also hope that participants would bring back their knowledge from UTHM and share it with the Indonesian community,” he added.
