Pagoh – To meet the needs of industry involvement in the university’s academic programmes, the Department of Chemical Engineering Technology, Faculty of Engineering Technology, Universiti Tun Hussien Onn Malaysia (UTHM) took the initiative to organize a programme, ‘Industrial Talk with Leo Pharma Denmark’, on 25 February 2018.
The programme involved 130 staff and students from the Chemistry Engineering Technology course (BNN).
This main objective of the programme was to expose BNN students to the industry, particularly with the pharmaceutical industry from Denmark. Apart from that, this programme also aimed to seek any collaborative opportunities between the surrounding industries and UTHM Pagoh campus specifically to expand the industry network with overseas companies.
To fulfil the said objectives, JTKK invited Dr Hans Christian Lützhøft Holten, a speaker from Leo Pharma Denmark to deliver a talk on risk assessment for pharmaceutical products. Through this session, Dr. Hans shared his expertise on chemical analysis.
Besides providing exposure to multi-national pharmaceutical industries, organizing such programmes could also open up opportunities for students to plan their future engagement in the industry after graduation. Therefore, it is hoped that the programme initiates a paradigm shift in the students to improve themselves to meet the challenges of the working life.
