University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, (UTHM) created a record, by successfully publishing the highest number of documents in the ‘Malaysian Technical University network’ in 2017.
Based on the report by the Ministry of Higher Education, UTHM has published a total of 1271 Scopus Index articles in 2017. In doing so, UTHM has coveted the 1st place position from University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) the defending champions.
According to the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation, Professor Dr. Ruzairi Abdul Rahim this achievement reflects a positive development for the University which was in 12th position previously. He is also targeting an increase in the quality and number of scientific publishing for the university, from 1271 to 1600 in 2018.
He hopes that the researchers in UTHM will be able to publish more Web of Science standard articles and consequently play a major role in(become World class researchers through their contribution worldwide. UTHM also hopes that the achievement will play a major role in motivating and creating more scientific publishing of high impact in Malaysia
