The Centre for General Studies and Co-curricular, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) with the Batu Pahat Fire and Rescue Department organised the Self-esteem Enhancement Programme from 11 to 12 November 2016 at Mount Arong, Pulau Mawar. The programme involved 20 UTHM students and staff as well as 10 firefighters. The aim of the programme was to improve teamwork and instil self-belief among UTHM students. It was also aimed to produce students who can think outside the box and be creative and innovative. Activities such as water confidence, night walk and climbing Mount Arong were conducted during the programme. UTHM provided transportation and sporting equipment. A sum of RM1,080.00 was allocated for the programme and the total cost,in-kind and cash, was RM4,979.20
