BATU PAHAT – Vice Chancellor of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Ruzairi Abdul Rahim delivered his message for 2023 to all university employees today.
The Mandate Ceremony, which was carried out physically and online, became a platform for the Vice Chancellor to convey the wishes and plans of the university for the current year.
In his speech, Prof. Ruzairi shared a summary of the university’s main Key Performance Indicator (KPI) achievements in 2022 and the 15 Main KPIs for 2023 that need to be given attention and cooperation by campus residents.
He also expressed his appreciation and thanks to all those who have worked hard to ensure that the target or KPI in the past year could be achieved.
Meanwhile, Prof. Ruzairi also recalled the essence of the Minister of Higher Education, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin’s recent message which touched on 11 focal points with an emphasis on three matters namely MoHE (KPT) Management and University Leadership, Reform of the National TVET System and Ecosystem, and Academic Quality and Excellence.
He also reminded employees to pay more attention to a number of matters including the implementation of UTHM’s Main Initiatives through the four functions and objectives of the university, namely UTHM Edu-Train, UTHM Technopreneur, UTHM Prihatin, and UTHM Governance based on the six Civil (Madani) Pillars initiated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia before this.
In his speech, he once again called on-campus residents to work together to achieve the direction of the university, which is Global Technopreneur University 2030 (GTU 2030), which aims to position UTHM as a technical university at the global level that is a frontrunner in producing the nation’s technopreneurs.
“In order to achieve GTU 2030, I hope that we can all work as a group and be ready to change by being open and ready to gain new knowledge while trying to increase creativity by creating innovation and creative imagination to solve problems.
“Do carry out all the duties entrusted to you with empathy by practicing an attitude of helping each other and caring for the friends around you,” he said.
Also taking place was the launch session of UTHM’s UTHM Expert Management System (U-EMAS), which is a system that displays information related to researcher profiles, scientific publication information, and also staff and student research activities.
The system developed by the Tunku Tun Aminah Library in collaboration with the Information Technology Center aims to increase the visibility of UTHM researchers and to further encourage research and innovation activities at this university.
Also held, is the handover of the book “Sasaran Kerja Tahunan Universiti 2022” published by the Strategic and Risk Management Office to the Heads of Focus Groups.
The book is published every year with the aim of being used as a reference for university leadership in planning activities to achieve annual targets.
